Growing Democratic Support for a New Presidential Ticket

A recent YouGov poll commissioned by Pass The Torch highlights significant concerns among Democrats about President Joe Biden’s ability to defeat Donald Trump in the 2024 election. The survey, conducted from July 3-8 with 600 Democratic and 150 Independent voters, reveals that 82% of Democrats and 71% of Black voters are worried about Biden's chances against Trump. Additionally, there is a +9 margin among Democrats and +10 overall in favor of Biden stepping aside.

The poll also indicates strong support for a new Democratic ticket, with 81% of Democrats ready to back Vice President Kamala Harris if she becomes the nominee, and 74% willing to support any new ticket to replace Biden. This support spans various demographics, including a +20 margin among Hispanic voters and a majority of young voters advocating for Biden to step aside.

The findings suggest a growing readiness within the Democratic Party to embrace new leadership for the upcoming presidential race. Read the full press release here.
